Dent, London, Maker to the Queen, marine chronometer with 56-hour winding indicator, mounted within original gimbaled brass tub and three-tier brass bound burlwood box with Dent plaque, silvered dial of approximately 4 inch diameter signed "Dent London Chronometer Maker to the Queen. No 2730," KWKS, fusee-drive with spring detent escapement, bi-metallic compensation balance with blued helical hairspring, s#2730 with matching serial number to dial, on tub and box. Includes outer mahogany box with leather strap.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, good winding indicator function, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, with light discoloration and spotting to plates; excellent silvered dial with light surface marks and light spotting; excellent blued steel hands with very light oxide; excellent tub and gimbals with unusual winding lock; inner box in excellent cosmetic condition overall, light split to top portion, broken lock on top cover; outer box shows little wear with light surface nicks, supple leather strap.
